Waiheke Whisky’s “The Sweetwater” is a small-batch New Zealand single malt, distilled and matured on the windswept coast of Waiheke Island. Crafted from local barley and pure island water, it is aged in a mix of ex-bourbon and New Zealand red wine casks to produce a soft, elegant style with delicate sweetness and fine oak character. Bottled without chill filtration and natural in colour.
Bouquet Lifted aromas of golden peach, vanilla bean, light toffee, and floral malt, with a subtle breeze of coastal salinity.
Palate Smooth and gently sweet. Flavours of honey, baked apple, butterscotch, and toasted almond flow across a creamy palate. Hints of spice and dried fruit emerge on the finish, balanced by soft oak and a touch of maritime freshness.
Food Pairing Pair with roast chicken, almond tart, or creamy cheeses. Also delicious alongside fresh figs or a peach cobbler.
Cellaring Ready to enjoy now. Store upright in a cool, dark place. Will remain stable in bottle for several years.
