Valli Gibbston Pinot Noir 2022 is a beautifully aromatic and finely textured expression from the coolest and most elevated subregion of Central Otago. Gibbston’s long, slow ripening season allows for incredible flavour development, finesse, and vibrant natural acidity. Hand-harvested and wild fermented, this wine is aged in French oak to enhance its elegance without overpowering its bright fruit purity and perfumed style.
Bouquet Intensely fragrant with notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, violets, rose petals, and a hint of dried thyme.
Palate Silky and refined with lively red berry fruits, delicate floral notes, and soft savoury nuances. Bright acidity and fine, powdery tannins lead to a long, graceful, and mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing Perfect with French duck terrine, Italian herb-roasted chicken, New Zealand lamb rump, or wild mushroom risotto. Also a beautiful match for soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now but will continue to evolve gracefully through to 2032. A short decant is recommended to allow its delicate aromatics to fully unfold.
Interesting Fact Gibbston is Central Otago’s coolest and slowest ripening area, producing Pinot Noirs of incredible perfume, elegance, and finesse—qualities that Valli captures with stunning precision in this single-vineyard wine.
