Unico Zelo River Sand Fiano 2020

Unico Zelo River Sand Fiano 2020 is made from dry grown vines in the Riverland region of South Australia, on ancient sandy soils that lend the wine its name. Fiano is well suited to these warm, arid conditions thanks to its thick skins and natural acidity. The fruit is wild fermented and matured on lees in stainless steel, resulting in a wine that is textural, bright and full of character, with no additions apart from a touch of sulphur at bottling.

Bouquet
Aromas of preserved lemon, crushed almond, white stone fruit and sea spray. A savoury undertone of fennel and dried herbs gives added complexity.

Palate
Zesty and layered, with flavours of lemon peel, salted nectarine, green apple and a hint of roasted nuts. Saline, slightly waxy texture through the mid palate, finishing dry and crisp with lovely phenolic grip.

Food Pairing
Pair with grilled calamari, fried zucchini, fish tacos or caprese salad. Also excellent with Middle Eastern cuisine or as a refreshing contrast to creamy sauces.
