Winemaking From the famed Gimblett Gravels subregion, this Syrah is a modern New Zealand take on the northern Rhône style. Hand-harvested and fermented with partial whole bunches, the 2021 vintage was aged in French oak to preserve freshness and enhance texture and aromatic lift.
Bouquet Lifted notes of dark cherry, blackberry, and blueberry, wrapped in aromas of black pepper, violets, and savoury smoked meats.
Palate Medium-bodied with juicy dark fruit, silky tannins, and a vibrant acid backbone. Subtle oak spice, dried herbs, and mineral tones build into a long, harmonious finish.
Food Pairing Perfect with lamb, venison, grilled aubergine, or peppered mushrooms. A Syrah for elegant dishes and cool evenings.
Cellaring Beautiful now but will develop further character over 6–8 years. Decant to enjoy its full aromatic range.
Interesting Fact Trinity Hill was among the first to champion Syrah in the Gimblett Gravels, helping define the style that has gained international acclaim for finesse and age-worthiness.
Available at L’alcool, a family-owned wine store, offering top New Zealand Syrah and thoughtfully selected wines from around the world.
