Tohu Awatere Valley Pinot Noir White Label 2022 is sourced from a single vineyard nestled in the cool, coastal Awatere Valley of Marlborough. Hand-harvested fruit is carefully fermented with minimal intervention, and matured in French oak barrels to preserve the purity and elegance of this special site. Crafted by New Zealand’s first Māori-owned wine company, this Pinot Noir speaks of land, tradition, and excellence.
Bouquet Bright and fragrant with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, layered with delicate notes of dried herbs and subtle spice.
Palate Silky and fresh with juicy red berry fruits, fine tannins, and a vibrant acidity. A gentle savoury note and soft oak integration create a long, flowing finish that is both elegant and expressive.
Food Pairing Perfect with French duck breast, Italian mushroom ravioli, New Zealand venison loin, or a herb-crusted salmon fillet. Also lovely alongside a creamy Brie or roasted vegetable tart.
Cellaring Beautiful now for its vibrancy but will reward cellaring through to 2028, gaining depth and complexity. A short decant is recommended to enhance its aromatic profile.
Interesting Fact Tohu Wines was the first Māori-owned wine label, established in 1998 to celebrate stewardship of the land (kaitiakitanga)—a philosophy that is deeply woven into every bottle they produce.
