Terra Sancta Slapjack Block Pinot Noir 2022 comes from a unique, tightly planted section of the Terra Sancta estate on Felton Road, Bannockburn. The vineyard’s stony soils and old vine material deliver small berries packed with intensity. Wild fermentation and maturation in French oak capture the block’s distinct character—rich, complex, and finely structured.
Bouquet Perfumed and layered with ripe red cherry, plum, dried thyme, floral notes, and a whisper of earthy spice.
Palate Silky and concentrated with juicy red and black fruits, savoury herbal undertones, fine tannins, and a mineral backbone. A long, elegant finish highlights Bannockburn’s richness and precision.
Food Pairing Perfect with slow-cooked pork belly, pumpkin and sage gnocchi, seared tuna steaks, or a rustic lentil and vegetable cassoulet. Also excellent with a wedge of aged Manchego cheese.
Cellaring Wonderful now with decanting, but will continue evolving beautifully through to 2035, gaining savoury depth and complexity.
Interesting Fact The name Slapjack Block comes from an old gold mining term, reflecting Bannockburn’s rich history of rugged perseverance—a spirit that continues in the vineyard today.
