From the Bannockburn subregion of Central Otago, Terra Sancta Mysterious Diggings Pinot Noir 2024 offers a beautifully pure and vibrant expression of place. Hand-harvested from younger vines on Terra Sancta’s estate, it’s crafted with minimal intervention to let the bright fruit and fine structure shine. Aged in seasoned French oak, it’s a Pinot that is both joyful and serious, inviting yet layered.
Bouquet Fresh red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry aromas jump from the glass, lifted by a hint of violet and a whisper of spice.
Palate Silky and vibrant with juicy red berry flavours, subtle earthy undertones, and a fine line of savoury spice. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a bright, refreshing finish that speaks of Central Otago’s cool climate.
Food Pairing Perfect with duck breast, herb-crusted lamb, roasted mushroom dishes, or a simple charcuterie platter. Also a gorgeous match for beetroot salad or grilled salmon.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now for its lively fruit, but will reward careful cellaring through to 2027. Decant briefly to enhance aromatics if serving young.
Interesting Fact The name Mysterious Diggings references an old gold-mining site close to Terra Sancta’s vineyards—tying the land’s rich history to the vibrant energy captured in the glass.
