From Hawke’s Bay’s renowned Te Mata Estate, Alma Pinot Noir 2022 is a beautifully polished expression of Pinot Noir excellence. Hand-harvested from premium vineyard sites, the fruit is fermented in small open vats, then matured in fine French oak barriques. Te Mata's meticulous attention to detail delivers a wine of purity, structure, and exceptional finesse, drawing inspiration from the great Pinot Noirs of Burgundy while proudly expressing New Zealand’s own character.

Bouquet
Seductive aromatics of ripe red cherry, black plum, and fragrant florals, underpinned by subtle spice, forest floor, and a whisper of oak.

Palate
Silky and concentrated with layers of dark berry fruit, fine savoury tannins, and hints of liquorice and clove. A vibrant acidity drives through to a long, poised finish marked by precision and elegance.

Food Pairing
Perfect with duck breast, lamb fillet, mushroom risotto, or truffle-infused dishes. Also pairs beautifully with charcuterie and aged cheeses.

Cellaring
Outstanding now but will evolve gracefully in the cellar through 2032. Decanting recommended to fully reveal its layers.

Interesting Fact
Alma is named in tribute to Alma Buckley, the Irish-born wife of Te Mata’s founder, Charles Chambers. The wine honours her pioneering spirit with every vintage.
