A prestige rosé of rare elegance, Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2006 is produced only in exceptional vintages, using 100% Grand Cru fruit. The blend is 70% Pinot Noir, including 12–15% still red wine from Bouzy for colour and structure, and 30% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs for finesse. Aged on lees for over a decade in the chalk cellars beneath Reims, this cuvée is both powerful and precise. Dosage: approx. 9 g/L.
Bouquet
Graceful and complex, the nose offers aromas of wild strawberry, redcurrant, and blood orange, layered with rose petals, dried herbs, and crushed spices. Hints of almond pastry, chalk, and a touch of smoky reduction give it a poised, mature expression that is still full of life.
Palate
Textural, balanced, and deeply elegant. The palate reveals a rich core of red berries and candied citrus, supported by fine acidity and creamy mousse. Secondary notes of gingerbread, saffron, and mineral tension emerge on the long, savoury finish. A wine of quiet power and exquisite structure, showing the beauty of aged rosé Champagne.
Food Pairing
Stunning with duck breast, venison carpaccio, or lobster with saffron butter. Also beautifully matched with truffle risotto or a fine aged Comté. A wine to elevate any gastronomic experience.
Cellaring
Drinking superbly now with decanting optional, but will continue to evolve gracefully through to 2030+. Expect further development of spice, toasted nuts, and earthy complexity with age.
