Handcrafted from Staete Landt’s boutique estate vineyard in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys, State of Grace Pinot Noir 2019 is a wine of elegance and complexity. Hand-harvested, wild fermented, and matured in French oak barriques, it offers a refined style that balances vibrant fruit with savoury depth. The name reflects the beauty and serenity the winemakers find in their special corner of Marlborough.
Bouquet Expressive aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant, and wild thyme, supported by notes of dried herbs, spice, and subtle oak.
Palate Silky and structured with dark berry fruit, savoury spice, and earthy undertones. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity lead to a long, elegant, and harmonious finish.
Food Pairing Ideal with duck confit, roasted lamb, mushroom risotto, or a platter of aged cheeses. Also pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables and smoky, earthy dishes.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now but will develop added complexity through to 2028. Decant for 30–45 minutes before serving to reveal full aromatics.
Interesting Fact The name Staete Landt dates back to 1642 when Dutch explorer Abel Tasman first sighted New Zealand and named it Staten Landt—this winery continues that spirit of exploration and excellence.
