Distilled in Wellington by the independent Southward Distilling Co., this Maple Rye is a standout small-batch New Zealand spirit. Made from rye grain with a touch of real Canadian maple, it's distilled with precision and aged on oak, producing a whisky-style spirit with layers of warmth and spice. It’s a proud reflection of Southward’s creative and boundary-pushing approach to craft distilling.

Aroma
Inviting aromas of maple syrup, toasted rye bread, vanilla, and charred oak. Underneath the sweetness lies a hint of clove and cinnamon, giving it a bold and comforting edge.

Palate
Smooth and full-flavoured with notes of maple sugar, dark toffee, baking spice, and cracked pepper. The rye gives it structure and spice, while the maple adds richness and a round, slightly sweet finish. Exceptionally balanced and a great alternative to bourbon or Canadian whisky lovers.

Serving Suggestions
Sip neat, serve over a large ice cube, or use it to elevate an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. For a local twist, try it with dry ginger ale and a wedge of orange.
