Smith & Sheth’s CRU Wairau Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from premium sites in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, where stony soils and abundant sunshine create intensity and purity. The 2023 vintage was fermented in stainless steel with a portion in old oak and acacia barrels, building texture and complexity. Extended time on lees enhances mouthfeel while preserving Marlborough’s hallmark freshness.
Bouquet Lifted and aromatic with notes of kaffir lime, gooseberry and passionfruit. Underlying hints of elderflower, crushed herbs and wet stone add precision and energy.
Palate Dry, focused and elegant with a sleek acid backbone. Flavours of citrus, white peach and lemongrass flow over a fine, mineral-driven palate. The finish is long, zesty and beautifully balanced.
