Grown in the clay-rich soils of the Ashmore Vineyard in Wairau Valley, Marlborough, this Riesling is hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed. Fermentation is slow and cool in stainless steel, preserving purity of fruit and bright natural acidity. Minimal intervention allows the site and season to shine.
Bouquet A vibrant aromatic lift of lime zest, elderflower and crunchy green apple, with subtle undertones of flint and jasmine.
Palate Dry and racy with finely etched citrus, white peach and crushed stone. A vein of saline minerality and tension runs through the wine, finishing long, clean and electric.
Food Pairing Pairs seamlessly with Vietnamese rice paper rolls, grilled prawns or goat’s cheese and beetroot salad. Also a natural fit for fresh oysters or spicy noodle dishes.
Cellaring Delicious now, but will reward careful cellaring for up to 10 years as it develops honeyed and toasty complexity.
