From the highly regarded Spiegel Grand Cru vineyard in Guebwiller, this Pinot Gris is a benchmark of Alsace richness and precision. The Spiegel lieu-dit sits on gentle slopes of sandy clay and sandstone, offering natural elegance and minerality. Hand-harvested fruit is gently pressed and slowly fermented in temperature-controlled tanks, with extended time on lees to enhance body and depth. A dry style with trademark Grand Cru complexity and presence.
Bouquet
Perfumed and expressive, with aromas of ripe pear, apricot, and orange zest, alongside notes of acacia, jasmine, and subtle sweet spice. Hints of honey, almond, and flint lie beneath the fruit, hinting at the wine’s layered structure and age-worthiness.
Palate
Full-bodied, rounded, and finely balanced. The palate delivers fleshy stone fruit, candied citrus peel, and warming spice, wrapped in a silky, lees-derived texture. Fresh acidity lifts the richness, while the mineral core brings focus and a long, elegant finish. A Grand Cru Pinot Gris that combines opulence with restraint.
Food Pairing
Ideal with duck à l’orange, pork medallions with apple, or mushroom and gruyère tart. Also pairs beautifully with foie gras, Moroccan tagines, or mature alpine cheeses.
Cellaring
Drinking well now for its depth and aromatic complexity, but can cellar gracefully for 8–10 years, evolving into richer, more honeyed layers with subtle truffle and nutty tones over time.
