Crafted from estate-owned vineyards across Alsace, Les Princes Abbés honours the Benedictine monks who first cultivated these revered slopes. The 2018 vintage was warm and generous, yielding fruit with full ripeness and balanced acidity. Grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed, with fermentation and maturation in stainless steel to preserve varietal purity. A dry style Pinot Gris, this cuvée is known for its depth, elegance, and gastronomic character.
Bouquet
Open and expressive, the bouquet offers ripe pear, baked apple, and golden quince, underpinned by notes of acacia honey, citrus zest, and a subtle hint of smoke. A touch of white pepper and ginger brings warmth and lift.
Palate
Medium-bodied and beautifully textured, the palate reveals juicy stone fruit and soft spice, carried by a rounded, creamy mouthfeel. Lees ageing adds weight and finesse, while fresh acidity ensures balance. The finish is dry, long, and savoury, with quiet mineral persistence.
Food Pairing
An excellent match for roast pork, duck with apricot glaze, or mushroom and gruyère tart. Also delicious with foie gras, mildly spiced tagines, or aged Comté cheese.
Cellaring
Drinking well now with a touch of bottle maturity, but can cellar for a further 3–5 years, developing deeper honeyed, nutty, and savoury tones while retaining its structure and charm.
