Rockburn Pinot Noir 2022 is a classic expression of Central Otago, sourced from estate vineyards in Gibbston and Parkburn. Hand-harvested fruit is destemmed and fermented in open-top fermenters with gentle plunging to extract colour and fine tannins. The wine is matured in French oak barrels (around 30% new) for 10 months before blending and bottling. The result is a refined, expressive Pinot Noir with purity of fruit and structural finesse.
Bouquet Fragrant and lifted with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and wild thyme. Hints of clove, cinnamon, and subtle oak provide a spicy, savoury undertone.
Palate Medium-bodied with vibrant red fruit and supple tannins. Flavours of cherry, plum, and cranberry are layered with savoury herbs, soft spice, and a touch of cocoa. The finish is long, silky, and beautifully balanced.
Food Pairing A versatile match for duck breast, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or roast pork. Also excellent with goat’s cheese, charcuterie, or herby vegetarian dishes.
Cellaring Enjoy now for its freshness, or cellar through 2029 for deeper savoury complexity and gentle bottle development.
