Crafted by rising star Matías Riccitelli in Mendoza’s high-altitude vineyards, this Cabernet Franc is part of his Vineyard Selection range, highlighting site expression and purity. Grapes come from low-yielding vines grown at over 1,000 metres elevation in the Uco Valley, where cool nights and stony soils deliver freshness and structure. After hand-harvesting, the wine is fermented in small concrete vats with native yeasts, followed by ageing in used French oak barrels for 12 months. The result is a graceful and detailed take on this increasingly celebrated grape.
Bouquet Fragrant and lifted, showing redcurrant, raspberry, and violet. Hints of green peppercorn, crushed herbs, and subtle cedar create a layered and aromatic nose.
Palate Medium-bodied and silky in texture. Bright red fruit flows through the palate, supported by fine tannins and a streak of mountain freshness. Notes of savoury spice, graphite, and dried herbs add depth, leading to a long, elegant finish that captures both ripeness and restraint.
Food Pairing A lovely match for roast pork, grilled duck, herbed lamb, or lentil and root vegetable stew. Also excellent with aged goat’s cheese or a mushroom tart.
Cellaring Enjoy now through 2028. Cellaring will allow the wine’s savoury and earthy nuances to evolve further while preserving its lifted aromatics.
