Ramos Pinto Douro Duas Quintas White 2020

Originating from the Upper Douro, sourced from Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares, the Ramos Pinto Douro Duas Quintas White 2020 showcases the authenticity of local grape varieties. This structured and full-bodied yet refined and elegant white wine epitomizes the potential of the remarkable sub-region. Harvest dates are determined through successive grape tastings in the field, followed by handpicking and transportation in small, segregated boxes to the winemaking centre. Cold maceration of whole bunches precedes gentle pressing and decanting in underground vats, where fermentation occurs. Predominantly fermented in stainless steel vats, with a touch aged in French and Austrian oak casks, this wine, bottled in May 2021, presents a clear and bright, pale yellow appearance. The expressive nose exudes mature citrus notes, particularly lemon, with hints of peach and apricot upon agitation, all underscored by a refreshing zestiness. Its full-bodied palate accentuates ripe fruit flavours, culminating in a lingering finish harmonized by mineral freshness, showcasing a wine of exquisite balance.
