Ramos Pinto Douro Duas Quintas Rouge 2020

Ramos Pinto Douro Duas Quintas Rouge 2020 hails from the Upper Douro, specifically Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares, and crafted from indigenous grape varieties that epitomise the potential of this remarkable sub-region. The vinification process begins with the careful selection of grapes, tasted plot by plot in the field until the optimal harvest moment is determined. Upon arrival at the winery, grapes are sorted, crushed, and destemmed before undergoing fermentation in different stainless steel vats. Following maceration and malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months, with 20% aged in French oak barrels, 30% in large oak vats, and the remaining 50% in stainless steel vats. Bottled between May and July 2022, this wine presents a dark red hue with garnet reflexes and exudes a deep, concentrated aroma. Expect ripe fruit notes of blackberries and cherries, intertwined with sweet violet, cistus, and eucalyptus nuances on the nose. On the palate, experience a sensation of volume, intense fruit, and mature tannins, culminating in a long, refreshing finish that defines the essence of Douro excellence.
