Puriri Hills Harmonie du Soir 2019 is a luxurious Bordeaux-style blend, crafted from hand-harvested Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Carmenère grown on the estate’s gently sloping Clevedon vineyards. Wild fermentation, extended maceration, and careful ageing in French oak barrels create a wine of depth, complexity, and exceptional balance, reflecting both place and craftsmanship.
Bouquet Complex and perfumed with dark cherry, plum, violet, cedar, fine spice, and a hint of earthy tobacco.
Palate Elegant and full-bodied with layered black fruits, silky tannins, savoury notes, and a long, finely textured finish. Concentrated yet graceful.
Food Pairing Perfect with beef Wellington, lamb shanks with rosemary and garlic, wild mushroom risotto, or a rich duck cassoulet. Also outstanding with aged Gouda.
Cellaring Magnificent now with decanting but will continue evolving beautifully through to 2040, gaining depth, savoury complexity, and polished elegance.
Interesting Fact Named after the Baudelaire poem Harmonie du Soir ("Harmony of the Evening"), this wine captures Puriri Hills’ dedication to crafting artful, timeless expressions from their unique Clevedon terroir.
