Pokeno The Hidden Drop Olorosso Cask

Pōkeno’s Hidden Drop Oloroso Cask is a rare, small-batch single malt showcasing the influence of full maturation in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Crafted from 100% New Zealand-grown barley and distilled with pure volcanic spring water, this whisky is bottled at 46% with no chill filtration and natural colour. It reveals the bold, fruity, and spicy heart of Pōkeno’s house style through the lens of rich sherry wood.

Bouquet
Fragrant and expressive. Notes of dried fig, cinnamon, roasted almond, dark cherry and polished oak rise from the glass.

Palate
Velvety and generous. Flavours of raisin, toffee, dark chocolate and baking spice are balanced by sherry sweetness and a silky malt base. The finish is long, warming, and complex with lingering fruit and oak.

Food Pairing
Perfect with chargrilled meats, blue cheese, spiced nuts or dark chocolate tart. Also excellent after dinner or with a cigar.

Cellaring
Drinking beautifully now but will evolve further over the next 5–10 years. Store upright in a cool, dark place.
