Distillation & Maturation Pōkeno Origin is a pure and honest expression of New Zealand single malt whisky. Made from 100% NZ-grown barley and matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks, it captures the creamy sweetness and light spice of American oak, balanced by the softness of volcanic spring water. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 43%, it’s approachable, refined and proudly local.
Nose Soft and floral on the nose, with aromas of vanilla bean, ripe pear and honeycomb. A touch of citrus and gentle spice adds brightness and lift.
Palate Smooth and elegant, the palate flows with flavours of orchard fruit, toffee and creamy malt. Notes of vanilla and toasted coconut from the bourbon cask shine through, balanced by a silky texture and soft oak on the finish.
Food Pairing Perfect with grilled peaches, white chocolate, or creamy blue cheese. Also excellent with smoked chicken, toasted almonds or a classic vanilla panna cotta.

Interesting Fact Pōkeno Origin is made entirely onsite at New Zealand’s largest single malt distillery, just south of Auckland. The name ‘Origin’ reflects the whisky’s purity and traceability—from locally grown barley to bottle.
