Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry is a 100% pot still Jamaican rum that pays homage to the island’s classic high-ester style. Crafted using rums from the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries, it is aged in ex-bourbon casks in the tropics before a second maturation in Ferrand Cognac casks in France. With no added sugar and bold funk-forward character, Xaymaca is a dry, robust spirit that’s all about the raw intensity of traditional Jamaican rum.
Xaymaca (pronounced “Zay-maka”) is the original name for Jamaica, meaning “land of wood and water.”
Aroma Punchy and aromatic with notes of overripe banana, pineapple skin, clove, black tea, and a hint of olive brine. A smoky, herbal edge adds further intrigue.
Palate Dry and structured with flavours of grilled tropical fruit, black pepper, liquorice, roasted nuts, and a touch of green funk. The finish is long and earthy with oak spice and savoury depth.
Serving Suggestions Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up the complexity. Also ideal for bold tiki cocktails or a high-end Daiquiri with extra attitude.
