Plantation Extreme No.5 Barbados 2007 is an ultra-rare, cask-strength rum produced at the legendary West Indies Rum Distillery. Selected by Alexandre Gabriel for the fifth release in Plantation’s Extreme series, this bottling is presented at natural cask strength with no chill filtration, added sugar, or colouring. Aged 2 years in the Caribbean and an additional 12 years in France, this high-ester, pot still-driven rum is a bold expression of terroir, time, and transparency.
Bottled at a powerful 58.1% ABV, it is a limited edition for serious rum collectors and connoisseurs seeking intensity, complexity, and authenticity.
Aroma Incredibly layered and aromatic with notes of baked pineapple, banana skin, vanilla pod, salted caramel, and aged oak. Beneath the fruit lies smoke, leather, and warm spice.
Palate Full-bodied and dry with concentrated flavours of grilled tropical fruit, dark sugar, liquorice root, cocoa nib, and toasted nuts. The high proof intensifies the texture and finish, which is long, structured, and deeply warming.
Serving Suggestions Best enjoyed neat in a tasting glass to fully explore its complexity. Add a few drops of water to release further depth. This is a serious sipping rum not intended for mixing.
