Plantation Barbados 5 Year Old Rum is a beautifully balanced expression of traditional Caribbean rum-making. Distilled from molasses in Barbados using both pot and column stills, it’s aged for five years in bourbon casks under tropical heat, then finished in Ferrand Cognac casks in France. The result is a mellow, fruit-forward rum with elegant spice and soft oak—ideal for both sipping and refined mixing.
A fantastic introduction to aged Caribbean rum, and a staple in any well-stocked spirits shelf.
Aroma Warm and fragrant with notes of ripe banana, vanilla, coconut, toasted almond, and soft spice. Hints of tropical fruit and oak come through with time in the glass.
Palate Smooth and medium-bodied with flavours of caramelised banana, honey, baking spice, and roasted pineapple. A gentle oakiness and subtle vanilla from the Cognac cask finish lead into a clean, lingering finish.
Serving Suggestions Perfect served neat, on the rocks, or with ginger ale and lime. Also excellent in elevated rum cocktails like a Mai Tai or Barbados Rum Punch.
