Winemaking
Sourced from estate-grown fruit on the black Bay of Biscay soils of McLaren Vale, the 2022 Cracking Black Shiraz is built for richness and flavour. Fermented in open vats and aged in a mix of French and American oak, it showcases the ripeness and texture the region is famous for.

Bouquet
Intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and dark plum with notes of cracked pepper, cocoa, and toasted spice.

Palate
Full-bodied and smooth with layers of black fruit, mocha, and liquorice. The tannins are ripe and velvety, with warm oak spice and a rich, lingering finish.

Food Pairing
Perfect with BBQ ribs, lamb shanks, peppered steak, or smoky aubergine. A classic Shiraz built for hearty, flavour-packed meals.

Cellaring
Delicious now with a quick decant, or cellar for 6–8 years to allow deeper savoury notes to emerge.

The name ‘Cracking Black’ refers to the black clay soils that crack open in the heat of summer—creating ideal stress for producing powerful, structured Shiraz.
