Pegasus Bay Riesling 2024 is made from low-yielding vines grown on north-facing, free-draining terraces in Waipara, North Canterbury. A long ripening period allowed the fruit to develop intensity, with a small amount affected by noble rot, enhancing texture and complexity. Fermented slowly at cool temperatures, the wine retains a touch of natural sweetness to balance its crisp acidity. Made in a German-inspired off-dry style, it reflects both purity and richness.
Bouquet Bright and expressive with aromas of lime zest, green apple, orange blossom and honeysuckle. Subtle hints of ginger and flint add a savoury edge.
Palate Off-dry and vibrant with crisp acidity and a silken mouthfeel. Flavours of lemon curd, mandarin and ripe stone fruit unfold across a mineral-driven palate. The finish is long, juicy and perfectly poised between sweetness and freshness.
Food Pairing Pair with Thai green curry, glazed pork belly, fresh seafood or soft cheeses. Also delicious with citrusy desserts or spicy vegetarian dishes.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now but will age gracefully through 2035, developing honeyed, toasty complexity over time.
