From the historic Home Block vineyard in Nelson’s upper Moutere Hills, this Pinot Gris is an elegant, structured expression of clay-rich soils and cool maritime influence. Hand-harvested fruit is whole bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned oak, with extended lees contact to enhance mouthfeel and savoury detail. No fining and minimal intervention ensures clarity and character in every glass.
Bouquet
Delicate yet concentrated, the nose opens with ripe pear, quince, and white peach, layered with soft floral notes of jasmine and citrus blossom. Beneath the fruit, hints of crushed almond, ginger root, and flinty minerality add quiet complexity.
Palate
Dry and finely textured, the palate reveals generous pear and stone fruit, balanced by fresh acidity and a creamy, lees-driven weight. Subtle spice, chalk, and saline edges lend depth and poise. The finish is long, clean, and deeply satisfying—a serious, food-friendly Pinot Gris with restraint and drive.
Food Pairing
Beautiful with pork tenderloin and roasted fennel, scallop ceviche, or a saffron risotto. Also excellent with alpine cheeses or lightly spiced vegetable dishes.
Cellaring
Outstanding now for its purity and structure, but will cellar gracefully for 5–7 years, evolving layers of honeyed spice, nutty depth, and gentle richness over time.
