Sourced from Moy Hall and La Belle Vie vineyards in Martinborough, this Pinot Noir is a blend of Abel, 10/5 and Dijon clones. The 2022 vintage saw 23 days on skins to extract deep colour, richness and structure. The wine was matured for 11 months in French oak barrels, with 25 percent new oak lending spice and savoury complexity to the fruit forward core.
Bouquet Seductive aromas of dark cherry, black plum and baking spice are supported by notes of toasted oak, vanilla and a subtle floral lift. There is a brooding depth to the bouquet, balanced by elegance and vibrancy.
Palate Silky and expressive, the palate delivers layers of ripe cherry and spiced berry fruit, framed by fine tannins and integrated oak. Subtle earthiness and a whisper of clove add intrigue, leading to a long, smooth finish that speaks of place and precision.
Food Pairing Ideal with duck breast, venison loin or roasted mushroom risotto. The structure and fruit weight also make it a superb match for smoky eggplant dishes or grilled lamb with rosemary.
Cellaring Delicious now but will reward careful cellaring through to 2027, developing further earthy and savoury nuances with age.
Interesting Fact ‘Dunrobin’ takes its name from the original family farm, reflecting the connection between land, heritage and winemaking tradition at Moy Hall in Martinborough.
