Crafted from select parcels in Hawke's Bay, the 2021 Jewelstone Chardonnay showcases the pinnacle of Mission Estate’s winemaking. Whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barrels, with 40 percent new oak, this wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and ten months of lees ageing to build layered complexity and textural richness.
Bouquet Aromatic and expressive, the nose opens with white peach, lemon curd and toasted cashew, interwoven with fine oak spice and subtle flinty notes that hint at the wine’s barrel maturation.
Palate Powerful yet refined, the palate bursts with stone fruit, citrus zest and creamy nougat. A vibrant acid line lends freshness and drive, while integrated oak provides a frame of toasted almond, vanilla and spice. Long and harmonious through the finish.
