Crafted from fruit grown on the slopes of Lake Wanaka and surrounding Otago vineyards, Maude Pinot Gris 2024 is a beautifully balanced expression of place. The fruit is hand-picked, gently pressed, and fermented in a mix of stainless steel and seasoned oak, with a portion left on lees to build weight and structure. A focus on texture and purity delivers a wine that’s both bright and refined.
Bouquet
Aromatic and lifted, the nose reveals fresh pear, quince, and white peach, layered with citrus blossom and a hint of spice. Subtle notes of almond and honeyed florals add a gentle complexity.
Palate
Elegant and textural with a dry, finely weighted palate. Poached pear and golden apple sit alongside notes of ginger, soft mineral salinity, and a whisper of creamy lees. The acidity is lively, keeping the finish crisp and food-friendly.
Food Pairing
Pair with seared scallops, Vietnamese pork rolls, or a fennel and orange salad. Also beautiful with creamy mushroom dishes or roast chicken with tarragon.
Cellaring
Excellent drinking now, but will cellar gracefully for 3–5 years, developing more honeyed spice, soft texture, and savoury depth with age.
