Under the stewardship of Baron de Ladoucette, Marc Brédif is synonymous with uncompromising quality, evident in every aspect from vineyard to bottle. Grown on the sun-kissed slopes along the Loire Valley in Vouvray and Vernou-sur-Brenne, the grapes enjoy a blend of northern and southern exposures, cultivating flavours that are truly unique. The vineyards, with their predominantly chalk clay soils, boast an average age of 25-30 years, contributing to the wine's character and complexity. The "Classic" designation on the label distinguishes this traditional Vouvray from its counterparts. Meticulous winemaking begins with hand-picked grapes, followed by pneumatic pressing and natural juice clarification. A gentle two-month fermentation process at 64°F ensues, followed by nine months of maturation on lees in vats. The result? A Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2022 that dazzles with its bright, yellow gold hue and an intense nose redolent of elderflower, pear, and mirabelle, evolving into citrus and exotic fruit notes with aeration. The palate delights with a rich, fruity roundness, balanced perfectly with refreshing acidity, culminating in a long finish adorned with pineapple nuances, with 5 to 20 years of ageing potential.
