El Escocés Volante Manga del Brujo 2020 is crafted from old vine Garnacha blended with Syrah, Tempranillo, and a splash of Mazuela, grown in the rugged hills of Calatayud, Spain. Hand-harvested and matured in seasoned oak, this wine is made with minimal intervention to showcase pure fruit power, spice, and a deep sense of place.
Bouquet Rich and aromatic with ripe blackberry, black cherry, wild herbs, cracked pepper, and a hint of smoky earth.
Palate Full-bodied and bold with juicy dark fruits, savoury spice, firm yet polished tannins, and a long, warming finish packed with character.
Food Pairing Perfect with grilled lamb chops, spicy chorizo stew, smoky eggplant dishes, or a hearty beef and bean chilli. Also pairs well with aged Manchego cheese.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now but will evolve nicely through to 2028, gaining deeper savoury complexity.
Interesting Fact El Escocés Volante, meaning "The Flying Scotsman," is the nickname of winemaker Norrel Robertson MW, a Scotsman who has become one of Spain’s leading Garnacha specialists.
