Distillation & Maturation Maker’s Mark 46 is a unique expression from the iconic Kentucky distillery—made by finishing classic Maker’s Mark with seared French oak staves. After full maturation, the bourbon is placed back into the barrel with the staves and aged for an additional 9 weeks in a temperature-controlled limestone cellar. Bottled at 47%, it’s deeper, bolder and spicier than the original—without losing the trademark Maker’s smoothness.
Nose Warm and rich with aromas of caramelised sugar, vanilla bean, toasted oak and baking spices. Hints of cinnamon, cherry and sweet wheat grain follow through.
Palate Silky and full-flavoured, the palate reveals layers of butterscotch, spiced caramel, cinnamon bark and dark vanilla. French oak influence brings a dry, tannic structure and a warming, long finish with balanced sweetness and oaky depth.
Food Pairing Delicious with grilled meats, pecan pie, or dark chocolate. Also excellent alongside charcuterie, spicy barbecue, or smoked almonds.
Cellaring Ready to drink now but holds beautifully. Opens up well with a splash of water or a large ice cube to soften the spice and bring out the sweeter notes.
Interesting Fact Maker’s Mark 46 was the brand’s first new release since the original recipe in 1953. The “46” refers to the number of the French oak stave profile chosen to give the whisky its rich, spiced complexity.
