M Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2022

M.Chapoutier Côtes du Rhône Rouge presents a harmonious blend of Grenache and Syrah, a marriage of elegance and depth. Sourced from vineyards spanning four neighbouring regions, including Drôme, Vaucluse, Gard, and Ardèche, the wine draws from diverse soils, ranging from clay-calcareous alluvial deposits to clay, imparting an unparalleled richness and complexity. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes undergo whole bunches destemmed and a two-week vat time fostering a robust tannic structure essential for ageing. Maturation in vats culminates in a springtime blending, resulting in a garnet-red hue. On the nose, red fruit aromas, predominantly morello cherry and strawberry, entwine with the palate's firm tannins, offering a well-structured symphony of spices and fruits.
