Lustau Moscatel Emilin is made from 100% Moscatel de Alejandría, grown near the coast in Chipiona, southwest of Jerez. The grapes are sun-dried to concentrate sugars before fermentation, which is then halted with grape spirit to preserve natural sweetness. The wine is aged for several years in old American oak casks using the traditional solera system, developing intensity and complexity while retaining the distinctive floral character of the Moscatel grape.
Bouquet Intensely aromatic, with notes of orange blossom, fig, raisin and exotic spice. Hints of jasmine, date, and sweet citrus lift the nose with perfume and warmth.
Palate Rich and smooth with flavours of toffee, dried apricot, marmalade and treacle. The sweetness is generous but lifted by floral freshness and gentle acidity. The finish is long, spiced and elegant.
Food Pairing Pair with blue cheese, almond tart, baklava, or spiced fruit desserts. Also delicious with vanilla panna cotta or as a dessert on its own.
Cellaring Fully mature and stable in bottle. Once opened, it can be enjoyed for several months if stored cool and sealed. Serve lightly chilled.
Interesting Fact Moscatel is one of the rarest styles of sherry, and Lustau’s Emilin is widely regarded as the benchmark—uniting exotic perfume with luscious sweetness and depth.
