Production & Maturation Los Siete Misterios Ensamble Espadín/Mexicanito is a small-batch artisanal mezcal crafted in Oaxaca using traditional methods. Made from a blend of Espadín and Mexicanito agave—the latter a rare, wild varietal—it is roasted in earthen pits, crushed by horse-drawn tahona, naturally fermented in wooden vats, and distilled in clay pot stills. The result is a deeply expressive spirit that speaks of the land and hands that shaped it.
Nose Rustic and aromatic with layered smoke, roasted agave, green herbs and crushed stone. Notes of white pepper, citrus peel and dried flowers give it wild complexity.
Palate Bold and earthy, the palate offers a rich mix of smoky agave, fresh herbs, clay, and saline minerality. The Mexicanito agave brings bright, almost citrusy lift, while the clay pot distillation adds soft earth and warmth. The finish is long, dry and hauntingly savoury.
Food Pairing Best enjoyed neat with traditional Oaxacan fare—grilled corn, mole negro or barbacoa. Also excellent with charred vegetables, aged cheese or even dark chocolate with sea salt.
Cellaring Ready to sip now. This is a mezcal meant to be savoured slowly, and it will maintain its depth for years when properly sealed and stored.
Interesting Fact The Mexicanito agave is one of the rarest used in mezcal production, known for its citrusy notes and vibrant profile—but it's seldom seen outside of small, traditional ensambles like this one.
