Leveret Estate’s 2024 Viognier is grown in the warm, sun-soaked vineyards of Hawke’s Bay, where the region’s long growing season allows the aromatic Viognier grape to achieve full ripeness. The fruit is hand-picked and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned oak, with partial lees ageing to enhance mouthfeel. The resulting wine is expressive, softly textured, and elegantly layered, with a nod to both Rhône tradition and New Zealand freshness.
Bouquet
Perfumed and opulent, with classic Viognier notes of apricot, white peach, and orange blossom, alongside hints of honeysuckle, lemon balm, and a touch of soft ginger spice. Fragrant without being overpowering—inviting and balanced.
Palate
Silky and generous, yet finely structured. The palate delivers ripe stone fruit, subtle spice, and a creamy mid-palate from lees contact. There’s a lovely lift from fresh acidity and a whisper of vanilla and almond through the long, dry finish. Lush but poised, with the kind of texture that makes Viognier so compelling.
Food Pairing
Ideal with Thai green curry, Moroccan spiced chicken, or grilled peach and prosciutto salad. Also excellent with soft cheeses or dishes featuring nuts, herbs, and aromatic spice.
