In exceptional years, Kahurangi’s winemakers carefully select the four finest barrels from a standout vintage—bottling just under 1,200 bottles of this rich and age-worthy Chardonnay. The result is Four Barrels—a bold, expressive wine crafted from a single vineyard in the Moutere Hills, planted predominantly with Mendoza clone.
Tasting Note
This is Chardonnay at its most indulgent. The nose is layered with toasty butter, ripe stone fruit, vanilla and baking spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and complex, with flavours of nectarine, grilled peach, dried apricot, and a creamy oak richness. Balanced acidity carries through to a long, elegant finish—delivering a wine that is both generous and refined.
