Kahurangi Estate Pinot Noir 2023

Derived from grapes harvested in the challenging yet ultimately rewarding season of 2023, Kahurangi Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2023 embodies the resilience of its origin. Sourced from a single vineyard nestled in the Moutere Hills region of Nelson, the grapes, nurtured in predominantly Moutere clay soil, have yielded a wine of exceptional character. Following careful fermentation and maturation processes, including hand plunging in open fermenters for four weeks and subsequent ageing in a harmonious blend of new and aged French and American oak barriques for eleven months, this medium-bodied Pinot Noir emerges as a fine example of the region's craftsmanship. Opening with enticing aromas of dark berry fruit, subtle hints of star anise, and a whisper of cedar, it captivates the senses. On the palate, its silky smooth texture envelops the taste buds, marrying ripe dark berry notes with delicate spice flavours, culminating in a warm, lingering finish accentuated by soft tannins.
