JK.14 Nonno Mario Carmenere Piave DOC 2021

The JK.14 Carmenère DOC Piave, named "Nonno Mario," is a heartfelt tribute to family and tradition, embodying the spirit of Treviso's vine-covered hills. This wine boasts a ruby red hue with violet highlights, and an intensely fragrant nose with hints of violet, blackberry, and rocket. On the palate, it is fresh, dry, and pleasantly bright, reflecting the unique terroir of the Piave DOC region, where the clay soil and mineral salts impart a high structure and balance. Produced by Azienda Agricola Casa Roma, the Carmenère is harvested in late September to early October and undergoes open-top fermentation with 10 days of maceration, followed by 8 months of ageing. This wine, with its charming intensity and unforgettable character, mirrors the essence of its namesake, Mario, an embodiment of old-school Italian values and family dedication.
