Produced in the heart of Valpolicella using traditional appassimento methods, JK.14 Amarone 2018 is a bold and opulent red crafted from partially dried Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes. After drying for several months, the grapes are slowly fermented and aged in oak to concentrate flavour and build depth. The result is a luxurious wine with great structure, richness, and cellaring potential—hand-selected by Sir John and Fiorella Kirwan to represent the soul of the region.
Bouquet Intense and alluring, with aromas of dried cherry, fig, plum compote, dark chocolate, and a subtle lift of baking spice and sweet tobacco.
Palate Full-bodied and velvety with exceptional richness. Layers of ripe black fruits, dried red berries, cocoa, and savoury spice unfold across the palate, supported by supple tannins and well-integrated oak. There’s a warming, lengthy finish with just the right touch of bittersweet grip and complexity.
Food Pairing Perfect with rich fare—think braised beef, slow-cooked lamb, venison, aged hard cheeses, or hearty mushroom risotto. Also excellent alongside dark chocolate desserts or as a luxurious after-dinner sipper.
Cellaring Beautiful now but built to age. Drink from now through 2030+ for evolving layers of complexity and softened texture.
