Hans Herzog Mistral 2018 is a Rhône-style white blend grown and produced on the organic Herzog estate in Marlborough. A mix of 50% Viognier, 40% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne is hand-picked and fermented with wild yeasts in French oak barrels, then aged on lees for over a year to enhance texture and depth. As with all Herzog wines, no fining, filtration or additives are used, allowing the vineyard to speak clearly through each bottle.
Bouquet Expressive and opulent, with aromas of apricot, baked pear, orange blossom and honeycomb. Notes of toasted almond and warm spice unfold with air.
Palate Rich, layered and dry, with flavours of stone fruit, citrus curd, ginger and vanilla. Creamy yet fresh, with well-integrated oak and a lingering mineral finish. Full of personality and precision.
Food Pairing Pair with saffron risotto, roast chicken, seafood in cream sauce or aged cheese. A luxurious white for indulgent pairings and special occasions.
