Winemaking From a single steeply terraced vineyard on the schist soils of the Côte Brune, La Turque is one of Guigal’s famed “La La” trio. The 2013 vintage was cool and late-ripening, resulting in Syrah of exceptional perfume and structure. Co-fermented with a touch of Viognier, the wine was matured for over 40 months in 100% new French oak—crafted in Guigal’s unmistakable style of polish, power, and purity.
Bouquet Captivating aromas of blackcurrant, dried cherry, smoked bacon, and floral notes of violet and lavender. Hints of sandalwood, cocoa, and spice add layers of aromatic intrigue.
Palate Medium to full-bodied with refined tannins and seamless integration. Flavours of dark plum, blueberry, leather, and white pepper unfold over a silky texture. The finish is long, savoury, and mineral-rich, revealing the grace of bottle age and the depth of terroir.
Food Pairing Outstanding with roast duck, venison loin, truffled polenta, or slow-cooked beef cheek. A wine for refined palates and special occasions.
Cellaring Now in a beautiful drinking window with softened tannins and developed complexity. Will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 10+ years.
