Alfonso is a classic dry Oloroso made from 100% Palomino Fino, grown in the chalky albariza soils of Jerez. Fermented to dryness and then fortified, it is aged oxidatively—without flor—for an average of 8 years in seasoned American oak casks, using the traditional solera system. This ageing process gives the wine its deep colour, powerful aroma, and rich, nutty character.
Bouquet Intense and savoury with notes of toasted walnut, dried fig, orange peel and tobacco. Hints of leather, toffee and spice add warmth and complexity.
Palate Dry, full-bodied and velvety. Flavours of roasted nuts, caramelised orange, and a touch of balsamic unfold across a layered palate. A long, lingering finish shows fine acidity and classic rancio character.
Food Pairing Ideal with hard cheeses, mushroom dishes, game meats or charcuterie. Also excellent with consommé, smoked almonds or rich tapas.
