Distillation & Maturation GlenDronach 12 Year Old is a benchmark Highland single malt, fully matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. Bottled at 43%, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, it’s beloved for its depth, richness and classic sherried style—making it a go-to for whisky lovers seeking bold flavour with silky smoothness.
Nose Lush and aromatic, with notes of raisin, dried fig, orange zest and baking spice. Hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and walnut unfold with a soft, warming richness.
Palate Full-bodied and velvety, the palate shows sweet sherry-soaked fruit, treacle, roasted nuts and spice cake. The PX adds a touch of syrupy sweetness, while the Oloroso cask brings structure and elegant dryness. The finish is long, warming and deeply satisfying.
Food Pairing Excellent with fruitcake, dark chocolate, or aged cheeses. Also pairs beautifully with roast pork, sticky date pudding or spiced nuts.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now, but holds its richness and depth for years once opened. A great dram for both special occasions and fireside sipping.
Interesting Fact Founded in 1826, GlenDronach is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland and remains one of the few still using traditional sherry cask maturation across its core range.
