Crafted under the Gold River label, this wine captures the bright, expressive character of Central Otago Pinot Gris. Sourced from cooler vineyard blocks across the region—including Gibbston and Bendigo—the fruit was gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel, with a short period of lees contact to bring softness and texture. This is a Pinot Gris made for freshness and immediacy, with all the clarity and vibrancy you'd expect from a mountain-fringed, cool-climate region.
Bouquet
Fresh and aromatic, the nose opens with crisp pear, white nectarine, and citrus blossom. A subtle undercurrent of almond and soft spice gives it lift and a touch of complexity.
Palate
Light to medium-bodied and finely textured, with juicy orchard fruit, lemon peel, and a clean mineral thread running through the palate. The finish is dry and refreshing, with bright acidity and a gentle creaminess from lees ageing. Straightforward in the best way—honest, delicious, and regionally true.
Food Pairing
Lovely with lemon and herb chicken, grilled prawns, or a courgette and feta tart. Also great with soft cheeses or antipasti.
