Winemaking Escarpment’s NOIR range showcases a more playful, fruit-driven side of Martinborough Pinot Noir. Grapes are sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the region and fermented with indigenous yeasts in open-top vessels. The wine is matured for 10 months in predominantly older French oak barriques to enhance texture without overtaking the fruit. It’s bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve purity and natural charm.
Bouquet Bright red cherry, wild strawberry, and cranberry leap from the glass, supported by hints of soft spice, dry earth, and a faint herbal edge. Energetic and fragrant.
Palate Light to medium-bodied with silky tannins and lively acidity. Red fruit flavours carry through seamlessly with subtle oak spice and a refreshing, savoury finish. A polished and versatile expression of Martinborough Pinot Noir.
Food Pairing Delicious with herbed pork tenderloin, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or a soft-rind cheese platter. An easy choice for midweek meals and casual dinner parties alike.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now and will remain fresh and vibrant over the next 3–5 years.
Interesting Fact NOIR is Escarpment’s gateway to Pinot—crafted with the same care as their single-vineyard wines, but designed for approachability and everyday enjoyment.
