El Dorado 12 Year Old is a richly aged Demerara rum from Guyana, produced using traditional wooden stills—some of the oldest of their kind still in operation. Aged for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels, this blend showcases the depth and elegance that Demerara rum is known for. It's a multi-award-winning expression, celebrated for its balance of sweet richness and warming spice.
Bouquet Lush and inviting with aromas of toffee, sultana, brown sugar, and vanilla, layered with hints of baking spice and roasted tropical fruit.
Palate Smooth and full-flavoured. Flavours of butterscotch, fig, nutmeg, and honey glide across a silky texture. The finish is long, gently warming, and spiced with clove, oak, and caramel.
Food Pairing Enjoy neat or with a splash of water. Pairs beautifully with sticky date pudding, grilled pineapple, dark chocolate, or pecan pie. Also excellent in a top-shelf Old Fashioned.
Cellaring Ready to enjoy now and will keep well once opened. Store sealed and upright in a cool, dark place.
Interesting Fact El Dorado is one of the few distilleries in the world still using wooden pot and column stills—a method that gives the rum its distinctive, full-bodied character and historical authenticity.
