Dow’s Fine Ruby is a vibrant, youthful Port made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and other classic Douro varieties. The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards in the Douro Valley and fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity. The wine is aged for an average of three years in large oak vats before blending and bottling. The style is fresh and accessible, designed to showcase bright red fruit and easy-drinking charm.
Bouquet Lively and expressive with aromas of red plum, cherry and blackberry. Notes of clove, chocolate and a hint of sweet spice round out the nose.
Palate Medium-bodied and juicy, with flavours of ripe berry compote, redcurrant and cinnamon. Smooth tannins and a gentle sweetness lead to a clean, moreish finish.
Food Pairing Serve slightly chilled with hard cheeses, dark chocolate, berry tarts or fruitcake. Also lovely with roasted nuts or as an after-dinner sip.
Cellaring Ready to drink now. Once opened, it will keep well for up to two weeks if sealed and stored in a cool place.
Interesting Fact Dow’s is known for its drier house style, and even this youthful Ruby shows the balance and structure that define the brand—making it a great introduction to classic Port.
